BIOGRAPHY

From audio engineering and production, to massage therapy; I have always been listening with my hands.

A brief biography of my journey into the healing arts.

My journey into massage therapy is deeply informed by a rich, professional background in the arts. Prior to studying medicine, after graduating from The Institute of Audio Research, I worked as a freelance sound designer, composer, audio engineer, and Audio Supervisor, most notably at the internationally acclaimed immersive theatrical production Sleep No More. For over a decade, I managed and created complex audio environments and worked collaboratively with dancers, actors, and directors, gaining first hand insight into the physical and emotional toll of performance work. This experience sparked a deep interest in how the body holds and processes stress, both physical and psychological, and ultimately pushed me towards the healing arts, not only in service of taking good care of others, but in taking care of myself.

As my curiosity deepened, I began studying massage therapy and Chinese medicine at Pacific College of Health and Sciences, drawn to the way these traditions view the body as a landscape of energy, rhythm, and connection. The parallels between sound and healing became increasingly clear; both depend on listening deeply, responding intuitively, and finding harmony through balance and resonance. During my training and clinical work, I found profound meaning in helping people reconnect to themselves and feel more at ease in their bodies through thoughtful, therapeutic touch.

From there, I interned at the Joffrey Ballet School. Working with dancers and athletes, I witnessed how therapeutic touch can restore not only physical mobility but also a sense of inner equilibrium. I learned to approach each session as a dialogue between practitioner and client as an exchange of trust, energy, and attention that supports the body’s innate capacity to heal. Today, through Spacehold Massage Therapy, I integrate the precision of clinical massage with an artist’s sensitivity to presence, timing, and flow. My practice centers on creating an environment where clients feel grounded, seen, and safe to unwind.

Outside of my clinical work, I am an active musician, songwriter, recording artist, and performance artist. I also maintain a habitual fitness practice that includes weight lifting, running, endurance walking, and trying new things, which not only supports my own physical resilience, but informs my understanding of biomechanics, conditioning, injury, and recovery.
